Trump Calls For Billionaire George Soros To ‘Be Put in Jail’ During NBC Interview: ‘He’s a Bad Guy’
President Donald Trump called for billionaire Democratic donor George Soros to “be put in jail” during an interview with NBC News on Saturday.
Speaking to NBC News just days after the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, Trump said, “I’d like to see it [the nation] heal… But we’re dealing with a radical left group of lunatics, and they don’t play fair and they never did.”
Asked about Soros – who Trump recently threatened to prosecute – the president remarked, “He’s a bad guy” who “should be put in jail.”
Trump threatened Soros and “his wonderful Radical Left son” Alexander Soros with RICO charges in a Truth Social post last month.
“George Soros, and his wonderful Radical Left son, should be charged with RICO because of their support of Violent Protests, and much more, all throughout the United States of America,” wrote Trump. “We’re not going to allow these lunatics to rip apart America any more, never giving it so much as a chance to ‘BREATHE,’ and be FREE. Soros, and his group of psychopaths, have caused great damage to our Country! That includes his Crazy, West Coast friends.”
He warned, “Be careful, we’re watching you! Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Soros’ Open Society Foundations responded to Trump in a statement, which read, “The Open Society Foundations, founded by George Soros and chaired by Alex Soros, do not support or fund violent protests. Allegations to the contrary are false, and the threats against our founder and chair are outrageous. Our mission is to advance human rights, justice, and democratic principles in the United States and around the world. We stand for fundamental freedoms guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution, including the rights to free speech and peaceful protest that are hallmarks of any vibrant democracy.”
In a Friday appearance on Fox News’ Fox & Friends, Trump doubled down on the threat, announcing that his administration was “going to look into Soros” for possible violations of the RICO Act, which has been used to prosecute mobsters, biker gangs, corrupt police departments, and in 2023 – President Trump himself.
