\u201cYou were the best daughter a father could ever ask for,\u201d Morton wrote via a\u00a0GoFundMe, which was created on Tuesday, June 23. \u201cLosing a child is a pain I wouldn\u2019t wish on my worst enemy. I hate to make this post but y\u2019all won\u2019t be seeing me for a while. I have to take a break.\u201d<\/p>\n
He continued, \u201cI lost my daughter. She thought she was a big girl and could swim all by herself. She walked out of the house and got into the pool where she drowned. I hope heaven is real because I can\u2019t imagine you being all alone by yourself. So God, if you\u2019re real, please watch over my baby. Rest in Peace, my sweet angel. Daddy loves you forever, Rose.\u201d<\/p>\n
Morton went on to ask fans to consider donating to his fundraiser, which has a goal of $6,500. (At the time of publication, the GoFundMe has raised more than $4,000.)<\/p>\n
\u201cPlease help us send her home,\u201d he wrote. \u201cWe have to move away because we can\u2019t live in that house anymore, and I don\u2019t think I\u2019ll ever be able to work anytime soon. Anything helps.\u201d<\/p>\n
The fundraiser noted that a\u00a0service for his daughter\u00a0is set to be held on Sunday, June 28. No further details were shared.<\/p>\n
Morton shared a similar message via Instagram on Tuesday, where he uploaded a video of his daughter blowing out a birthday candle. \u201cRip,\u201d he wrote over the clip. He also uploaded several images from her Peppa Pig-themed birthday party in a separate Instagram post on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
A post shared to Facebook on Wednesday, June 24, noted that Morton\u2019s social media accounts \u201care currently being managed by his team.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAt this time, he is not online, posting content, responding to messages, or actively managing his pages,\u201d the message read. \u201cManagement is keeping his platforms running while he and his family take time to grieve the heartbreaking loss of their baby girl. This is an incredibly difficult time, and we ask for your understanding, prayers, and respect for their privacy as they navigate this unimaginable loss.\u201d<\/p>\n
The statement continued, \u201cYour continued love, support, and kind words mean more than you know. Thank you for standing with the family during this time.\u201d<\/p>\n
Morton shares parenting and family content on his social media accounts, which have am\u1d00ssed more than 2.6 million and 1.1 million followers on Instagram and TikTok, respectively. Jamal, who is married to wife Jessica Morton, has nine children.<\/p>\n
