From March 2021 to December 2021, Said submitted fraudulent meal count sheets, claiming that his nonprofit was serving 5,000 meals per day. In total, he fabricated meal counts and rosters, falsely asserting that more than 1 million meals were served during the year.
In reality, however, his organization provided only a fraction of that number, effectively stealing millions of dollars from a program designed to help children during a time of crisis.The fraudulent operation reaped a staggering $2.9 million in federal funds.
