Tragic incident: Baby falls from crib due to nurse storing monitor cords in her pocket
Neighbors, get into this devastating story! Ohio parents Makenzie and Tyler Peyton are demanding answers, after losing their baby just a few weeks after she was born. Baby Eillieana Peyton was born at Nationwide Children’s Hospital on March 4, 2025, but had to stay in the NICU due to Cardiomyopathy.
According to WSYX, the Peyton family planned to reunite and take the baby home on March 28th. Unfortunately, on March 26th, the parents went home to shower and got the call that Ellieana had been accidentally drug out of her crib and suffered a fractured skull.
Makenzie was told, “The nurse caring for her daughter had kept the monitor cords in her pocket..The nurse went to walk away and baby Ellieana was dragged from her crib.” Baby Eilieana ended up not making it, leaving the Peyton family devastated. According to FOX25, the Franklin County Coroner’s Office ruled baby Eillieana’s death to be an accident.
The autopsy states, “Due to a congenital heart defect complicated by blunt force head injuries.” Nationwide Children’s Hospital told ABC, “Due to patient privacy, we are unable to provide information about specific patients.”
Makenzie also told ABC 6, “My family experiences both good and bad days, but the pain of losing my daughter remains.” This story is sad all the way around. Should the investigators take another look, or was it truly an accident? Thoughts?
